The label was founded in 2008 as a word and image mark by designer Simone Jädike in Berlin and was also registered as a patent and trademark. The limited-edition collections and one-of-a-kind pieces for children were very popular and successful. In 2004, the brand decided to take a new direction and rebranded.
The name "SANDBURGRITTER" is a combination of the words "Sandburg" (sandcastle) and "Ritter" (knight), which define the brand identity and create a new synonym. The name was coined by the designer and founder, Simone Jädike.
